Global Warming.  Let's put an end this Threat!

No matter how you look at it, global warming is a threat that everyone needs to take seriously.  We have to start reducing our carbon emissions now, or else many of us, and especially our children, will see changes in the world that will change life as we now know it.  Some of this is happening now.

Thinking about what is needed in reducing our carbon emissions on a global scale is mind boggling, and may leave you with a feeling of hopelessness, but don't fall into that trap.  The sum of the whole is what will make the difference in saving our earth, and everyone doing a little will add up to a lot!

Things you can start doing now:

  • Turn off lights that you do not need to have on
  • Replace light bulbs with energy efficient compact fluorescents
  • Turn off electronics/computers/monitors when not in use
  • Turn down your thermostat two or three degrees
  • Eliminate drafts from windows and doors in colder months
  • Wash cloths in cold water
  • Hang dry cloths (socks and such dry fast, even inside)
  • Drive less by consolidating trips
  • Bike to and from work when weather allows
  • Consider a hybrid when making your next automobile purchase
  • Buy locally grown foods
  • Be positive and tell others that conservation is easy

You will save money, too, just by shutting off stuff and turning down the heat.  And don't forget to conserve at work!
